Numbers reveal a historic shift in global Catholicism. New Vatican statistics show that the worldwide number of priests rose by just 425 in 2024, reaching 407,421. Pope Leo XIV will be discharged from Rome’s Gemelli Hospital early Saturday afternoon following surgery for lung cancer.
