The University of Notre Dame's McGrath Institute for Church Life has published on July 17 a report containing twelve proposals for assessing candidates for the priesthood. Entitled, "Do You Know Them to Be Worthy?", the file was written by Father Thomas V. Berg and psychologist Timothy G. Lock. The report draws on research commissioned from the Center for Applied Research in the Apostolate (CARA) and a consultation held at Notre Dame in September 2025. The proposals concern psychological assessment, candidates with particular psychological or developmental conditions, and formation for chastity and celibacy. It addresses candidates with conditions including ADHD, obsessive-compulsive disorder and autism spectrum disorder. On homosexual attraction, the Notre Dame authors note that a pause in formation may "more often than not" lead to a decision not to advance a candidate toward ordination. The authors think the pause is needed to assess four things: - how the man understands his identity; …sɔgbɔ ɖe edzi
Slovak pro-LGBT Catholic priest Adam Štefanec, 29, of the Diocese of Žilina said in an August 12 video that he does not like the word “God.” Rev. Štefanec believes that the term had accumulated so many associations that it no longer speaks to people today. “I try to find words that are universal,” he said, naming “humanity” as a universal value. Asked what Christ wants from people, Rev. Štefanec said the answer is “different for everyone,” different in every age, and “constantly changing.” Previously, Rev. Štefanec has supported homosex civil partnerships and said that homosexuality is not a sin.

Priest Alters Words of Consecration, Nuns Appear as "Concelebrants". Worse than Germany: A video published by InfoVaticana.com shows Trinitarian nuns at the Monastery of Suesa in Cantabria, Spain, standing around the altar like concelebrants, with their hands extended during the Eucharistic Prayer. The celebrating priest altered the words of consecration, using feminine forms. He said, “Tomad y comed todas de él” (“Take and eat, all of you” — using the feminine todas). Furthermore, he prayed “for all humanity” instead of “for many.” He also replaced “Do this in memory of me” with: “Do this to remember that I am among you as one who serves.”

Cardinal Burke on “Unworthy” Popes: Catholics can legitimately object to a pope’s words or actions, Cardinal Raymond Burke said in an August 18 video by the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe, noting that sometimes the pope simply “speaks as a man.” He added that earlier popes spoke more cautiously to avoid confusing personal opinions with authoritative teaching. And: “Even if there were popes who did not fulfill their ministry in a worthy way, the office of the Vicar of Christ on earth stands and will always stand in the Catholic Church.” Burke also appears to make a small slip of the tongue, referring to the pope as the “successor of Christ” rather than the successor of St. Peter.
Cardinal Burke refers to the Pope as the “successor of Christ” — a slip of the tongue.
Prevost was installed through an agreement with Bergoglio, who made him a bishop and then a fake anti-cardinal, since Bergoglio was installed by the freemasons and didn't have the power to consecrate cardinals. A true Catholic disobeys and denounces the heresies and blasphemies of the usurper Prevost, who pretends to be 'Pope' to spread his leftist politics, homosexuality, and synodal syncretism. All for the eternal damnation of souls.
Today, Leo XIV published a message for the 2026 World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation. He adopts the ecological vocabulary closely associated with Francis’ pontificate. Citing Laudato Si’, he speaks of an “authentic ecological conversion” and in metaphors such as “the ecosystems of the human heart.” The message also contains a naïve statement on warfare. “The true tools for building peace are not weapons of destruction,” Leo writes, listing instead “truth, dialogue, patience, goodness, justice, mercy, understanding, care and love.” Leo XIV enfolds an earthly program of disarmament, poverty reduction and ecological improvement: “Let us imagine a world in which the energies currently invested in war are directed toward integral human development, to overcoming poverty, protecting human dignity and reconciling divided peoples. Such a vision reflects faith in the coming of God’s Kingdom.” #newsUadwzxlixo
Why the Church stopped teaching wives must obey: Tim Gordon’s nuclear take Catholic author and podcaster Timothy Gordon joins John-Henry Westen for a wide-ranging conversation on feminism, traditional Catholic marriage, and the crisis of authority in the Church. Gordon draws from the Roman Catechism to argue that modern Catholics have become uncomfortable with traditional teachings on male headship and wifely obedience. He discusses his documentary What a Woman Is, the “Diaper Gate” controversy, and the backlash his positions have received, including from women who support his arguments. They then turn to the death penalty, where Gordon challenges recent Catholic teaching restricting capital punishment. He traces the decisive break to changes under Pope John Paul II, arguing that the traditional justification rests on retributive justice, not merely preventing future crimes. They also talk about Pope Leo XIV, the “seamless garment” approach to pro-life issues, Amoris Laetitia, and the …sɔgbɔ ɖe edzi
“What eroded the moral authority of the Church was the warm romance and embrace of secular power,” Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah, 73, of Sokoto, Nigeria, told CatholicWorldReport.com on August 10: “The Church embraced the world and became like the world it was supposed to change.” The bishop added that Africa has “no immunity from this virus”: “The only immunity is to learn from the history of others.” Later in the interview, Bishop Kukah recalled the death of an 18-year-old seminarian who was kidnapped along with three companions. After negotiations and the payment of a ransom, the other three were freed, while he was murdered: “As God would have it, the kidnappers were caught one year later, and they confessed that they killed him because, despite their guns and knowing they were Muslims, he insisted that they must repent of their crimes and return to God!” The prelate has since named the Bishop’s House after the seminarian, while a shrine in his honor stands at the seminary in Kaduna. …sɔgbɔ ɖe edzi
The boy who remembered being someone else... from 50 years ago Ryan Hammond, an American boy, began recounting memories of a life that—according to him—was not his own: that of Marty Martin, a Broadway dancer who had passed away five decades earlier and about whom the boy had never heard or seen anything. What was extraordinary was not just the story, but the details: names, dates, places, and specific episodes from Marty’s life that Ryan recounted with a level of precision impossible to explain for a child his age. The case came to the attention of psychiatrist Jim Tucker, renowned for his research on past-life memories at the University of Virginia. After verifying every piece of data, he confirmed that the information matched—even down to the exact years Marty lived, a detail that led researchers to discover an error on his death certificate. Coincidence, cryptomnesia, or something science cannot yet explain?
German-born Abbot Maximilian Heim, 65 will step down as head of Heiligenkreuz Abbey on September 14, ending more than 15 years at the helm of the monastery. Founded in 1133 southwest of Vienna, Austria, it is one of Europe’s best-known Cistercian monasteries. The monastery still uses Latin and the Gregorian chant for its liturgies. It is strictly Novus Ordo with only few monks preferring the Roman rite. They had a difficult life under Abbot Heim. Abbot Heim said the time had come to place the responsibility “in younger hands,” pointing to the heart problems he suffered last year. Heim intends to return to pastoral ministry and theological work. His resignation comes roughly a year before the scheduled end of his second term. The monks are expected to elect new leadership in September. In consultation with the Vatican, however, the community will initially elect an administrator for a three-year term rather than an abbot for the customary longer mandate. The resignation comes only months …sɔgbɔ ɖe edzi
The abbot of an Austrian Cistercian monastery, the oldest of its kind in the world, has announced his intention to step down in September so that the role can be filled by a younger member of the community.
"Filled with indignation against the usurer, they declared his body should not be buried in consecrated ground, and taking it off the catafalque, dragged it out of the city and threw it on a place where dead beasts were buried. This wonderful occurrence did not fail to produce a good and lasting impression on the people. From that time usury was almost stamped out of Florence; but the respect and veneration in which St. Anthony was held were such that he and his companion fled from the city to seek the solitude of Mt. Alvernia."
[St. Anthony of Padua XII-XIII Century AD; born: Lisbon, Kingdom of Portugal/died: Padua, Holy Roman Empire; (aged 35); powerful preaching, expert knowledge of scripture, and undying love and devotion to the poor and the sick; canonized less than a year after his death; Doctor of the Church] 16 ~ Where the treasure is, there also is Thy Heart Among the many vices infesting Florence, usury was the one against which the saint waged the greatest war. St. Bonaventure himself relates an occurrence which took place in that city, and of which St. Anthony availed himself in one of his sermons to illustrate how severely God punishes that vice. A rich usurer died, and whilst the saint was in prayer God revealed to him that this man s soul was in hell on account of his unjust dealings with others. An immense crowd of people had gone to hear the saint preach the funeral sermon. He at once, on ascending the pulpit, began by pointing out the heinousness of the sin of usury, declaring that usurers in …sɔgbɔ ɖe edzi
The mosaics by Marko Rupnik at the Sanctuary of Lourdes will be fully covered in the coming weeks and will remain hidden permanently after Pope Leo XIV’s visit, Bishop Jean-Marc Micas of Tarbes and Lourdes told French newspaper LaDepeche.fr on August 20. Only some of the mosaics, including those on the basilica’s doors, were covered in March 2025. The sanctuary had previously stopped illuminating Rupnik’s works during its nightly processions in 2024. Rupnik is a Slovenian priest and artist promoted by the Vatican for decades. He has been accused by around two dozen women of sexual, spiritual and psychological abuse. An ongoing canonical case concerning the allegations is being drawn out in the Vatican. Bishop Micas has previously said that the continued public display of Rupnik’s work at Lourdes can cause particular pain to victims of abuse who visit the sanctuary. #newsSevwzxkaei
The bishop who oversees the Shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes in France has said the popular Catholic pilgrimage site will cover all of its mosaics by disgraced priest Father Marko Rupnik ahead of Pope Leo XIV’s visit next month.
10 Million Downloads: The Gospel of St. John Is Reaching the World Digitally | SG News A remarkable digital mission milestone is drawing attention around the world. The Pocket Testament League has recorded more than 10 million digital downloads of the Gospel of John through its mobile app in less than a year. India leads the surge with approximately 3.68 million downloads, followed by Bangladesh with 1.48 million. Even more striking is the growing engagement from countries where access to traditional Christian resources can be difficult, including Iran, Afghanistan, Yemen, Pakistan, Sudan, and Iraq. The ministry traces its roots back to 1893, when Helen Cadbury began distributing pocket-sized Scripture. Today, that same mission has entered the digital age, with total app downloads surpassing 30 million since the transition to digital ministry in 2020. Behind every statistic is a person searching for truth, hope, and the Word of God. Watch how technology is helping Scripture reach …sɔgbɔ ɖe edzi

by Plinio Corrêa de Oliveira We do well to read some advice from Saint Bernard about devotion to Our Lady. The advice is as follows: “Oh, whosoever thou art that perceiveth thyself during this mortal existence to be rather drifting in treacherous waters, at the mercy of the winds and the waves, than walking on firm ground, turn not away thine eyes from the splendor of this guiding star, unless thou wish to be submerged by the storm!” Passages like this are often found referring to Our Lady. Such texts represent what we might call a profoundly anti-Hollywoodian vision of life. This modern, optimistic and wrong view creates the illusion that this life can be a phase of our existence in which we can find true happiness. Earthly life is presented to us as a rose garden, in which misfortune only happens to people by chance or bad luck. Some people might also make a few unfortunate missteps, thus falling, hurting themselves, or collapsing definitively. However, if we manage to work around …sɔgbɔ ɖe edzi
